Day one of the 133rd Scottish Senior Championships, 2 Perth Strathtay Harriers took to the action.

The day started with Lauryn Wood who took to the runway in the senior women’s Javelin. Her card was consistent and peaked with a personal best throw of 32.56m in round 2. This put her in silver medal position and laid a challenge to the rest of the field. But a 33.33m from Megan Saunders (Aberdeen AC) in round 5 and a 32.82m from Isla Raeburn (Glas Uni) in round 3 would nudge her down into 4th place by the end of a very competitive competition.

In the men’s 100m, Owen Leonard took the win in heat 3 with a time of 10.93 seconds to progress to the next round. In semi final 2, he qualified to the final with a 2nd (10.97) and in a stacked final took 8th place (10.95).

Well done both on some excellent performances.
