Last Thursday (15th May) saw the annual running of our sold out Kinnoull Hill race. A gloriously sunny evening on a fabulous course up and round the famous Perth hill awaited the 115 runners who took to the course.
The overall winner was Mark Bell of Dundee Road Runners, coming home in 28 minutes 20 seconds. 2nd Place went to Graeme Warren of Strathearn Harriers and 3rd place to Munro Stewart of Dundee Hawkhill Harriers. First male Perth Strathtay Harrier home was Bruce Gibb in 56th place with a time of 38 minutes 30 seconds.
First female home, was our own Eilidh Hearn (Perth Strathtay Harriers) in 35 minutes 56 seconds, followed by FÃona Canavan (Dundee Road Runners) in 2nd and Paige Brown (Perth Road Runners) in 3rd.
Sadly, Dave Knight, has decided to retire from his event organiser role from this year. Daves passion for our club and the hill race has always shone through and the success of the event is down to him and the incredible group of volunteers that he’s pulled together every year.
Thankfully though, he has handed the baton on, and the race will be back in 2026, to which Dave hopes he might actually get to run it, for a change!
From everyone at Perth Strathtay Harriers – Dave, thank you so much for what you have given to the race and the supporting of the club.
Thanks also to all of the volunteers on marshalling duty round the hill, the time keepers and placers on the finish line and the race results guys in the hall.
